Does Once Upon A Coconut need to be refrigerated? How long does it last?
Our 11oz aluminum cans allow our coconut water to be shelf stable for up to 24 months outside of the fridge. For the best taste imaginable, refrigerate or chill before consuming.
Is Once Upon A Coconut coconut water gluten-free?
Yup! All of our products are gluten-free!
Does Once Upon A Coconut coconut water have electrolytes?
You betcha! All of our coconut water contains naturally occurring electrolytes like potassium. Like we say, it’s your fairy tale of replenishment come true!
How many calories are in Once Upon A Coconut coconut water?
Our pure coconut water contains 70 calories per serving. While our sparkling coconut water + energy contains 75 per serving.
What does “never from concentrate” mean?
Some brands use coconut water from concentrate—meaning, reconstituted with water and additives before packaging—but, not us. We use only the freshest, purest coconut water possible. It allows us to claim the statement ‘never from concentrate’!
Does Once Upon A Coconut add sugar to its coconut water?
No mam! Not even a little bit. Reason being, we make our coconut water from younger coconuts which have a refreshing juice with a sweeter flavor.
Where do you read the best-by date?
The best-by date is found on the bottom of every can, and is dated 24 months from the production date. We’ve put a nice little sign on the label to guide you.
Is Once Upon A Coconut non-GMO?
Yes. However, we are currently awaiting our Non-GMO Project Certification to make it even more official.
Why do we use Young Coconuts?
The Young coconut is harvested directly from the tree before it has time to age and drop like the more mature white and brown husked coconuts. Inside you’ll find a more refreshing juice with a sweeter flavor.
What health benefits does coconut water have?
Potassium, calcium, and magnesium (all electrolytes) play important roles in helping to maintain heart health, liver and kidney health, digestive functions, healthy blood sugar levels, muscle and nerve functions, and more.*
When should I drink this?
To be honest, there are no rules when drinking coconut water. You can enjoy it day or night. For some people, drinking it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach can help in many ways. For active people, before or after a workout. And for wild ones, it’s said to be one of the best remedies for a hangover (just sayin’).
Where is the natural caffeine sourced from?
We would lie awake each morning trying to determine the best place to source our caffeine from. It turns out that India was a great place to start. You see, caffeine is not native to India. Legend has it that beans were smuggled out of Arabia and planted in south India. But over time, south India became a center for caffeine, making it a wonderful drink with a great cultural history behind it.
When should I drink this?
Given this is a caffeinated coconut water, we’d suggest drinking it when you need that extra lift. It’s equivalent to a tall cup of coffee and then some, so whether it’s for an early meeting or workout, you will get the boost you need.
Is sparkling coconut water better for me?
This is really a matter of preference. Some say the effervescent nature helps settle their stomach, while others say it contributes to a more flavorful experience. Either way, you’re gonna enjoy it.
What kind of tequila is used?
Blanco tequila, which is the purest. Made with 100% agave.
How should I drink this?
Always chilled. Always when you want to unwind and let loose. Always responsibly.

Is tequila good for you?
No studies have found direct benefits of drinking tequila. Sure, there have been ones that've shown potential health-boosting properties in the agave plant and its sugars... But even so, tequila can be a healthier choice than other cocktails or alcoholic drinks.
